Matt 24:

1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Figure of speech (Gr.) for total utter destruction...no Wailing Wall etc. which General Titus left standing "stone upon stone"(80AD).

3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

Matt 15:7-9
7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias (Isa 29 :13 ) prophesy of you, saying, 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.


Matt 24:5
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

In these end times many do say that Jesus is Lord as well as furthering the deception that the first supernatural being on the scene is going to be our Lord... let's read further what Jesus Christ The Living Word and The Word of Life has to say through His Apostle Paul in the 2cnd letter to the Thessalonians

II Thes 2:1-4

1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (KJV)

EZEKIEL 13:1-23

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD;
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!
O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes¹ in the deserts.
Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.
They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.
Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken?
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD.
And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter :
Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it.
Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it?
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it.
So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter, and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it;
To wit, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord GOD.
Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them,
And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you?
And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?
Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.
Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:
Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.(KJV)

The concept of being "caught up" is very much scripture documented by Pauls words.

1Thes 4:16-18

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (KJV)

In disputing the current teachings of the rapture, to say "The word rapture isnt in the manuscripts" is weak and irrelevant, specially if you are facing a competant bible student; the word "trinity" isnt in the manuscripts either, yet, there is a triune Godhead. So too, there is a "rapture" as well; it's just not taught correctly too often.

There will be a "catching up" as Paul documents as well as:

Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

This is a literal gathering, or catching up by angels of the elect, to be taken to meet Christ. Not to meet in the "clouds" per se but as a large group of people transfigured in spiritual bodies and brought to Mt Zion as per Revelation 14.

The issue then is not what the words mean but WHEN and HOW and WHO will be "raptured" or better put to avoid confusion, "gathered together".

There will be no pre-trib or mid trib gathering and those two are the worst examples of the current rapture teaching. Post trib is accurate because not only are the elect gathered after the trib, but all, "living and dead" will be changed (transfiguration ? )

1 Cor 15:50-52

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (KJV)

If therefore we are to use a term to describe the scriptural truth of the gathering, it would be a post trib gathering or "rapture".

It boils down to this: Will there be a "rapture"? Yes
Use that word or gathering or whatever, yes, there is one.

Will it occur before or during the trib? No.

Will we be in our flesh bodies ? Absolutely not !

1 Thessalonians 4:17

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Its WHO and most importantly WHEN that matters in understanding this verse. This "harpazo" takes place, which I think too many forget in their good intentions to leave the doctrine of pre and mid trib raptures behind.

We can substitute the word in this verse as well:

2 Corinthians 12:2

I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth) such an one [raptured] to the third heaven.

2 Corinthians 12:4

How that he was [raptured] into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

The word "rapture" may carry negative connotations from its misuse but this is still an accurate translation. The word "taken" could also be used and it would still carry the proper meaning.

Acts 8:39

And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

or

Acts 8:39

And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord raptured Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

Revelation 12:5

And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

Revelation 12:5

And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was [raptured] unto God, and to his throne.

Again, the point is NOT the word rapture, or caught up...its WHEN rapturists teach this will happen and to WHOM. The concept of being physically moved or spiritually moved is not unscriptural.
